Attached is a new version of the bottle data file for this cruise. Additions include O-18 and del-D data, both generated in Peter’s lab at LDEO. Alex Haumann (thank you!!) found then translated the original pdf file (data report referenced in the header and attached here) into something I could read. I column aligned, then sorted the data, combined duplicate measurements (except for 1 example; error weighted mean), merged into the existing bottle data file, ran a quick QC, then printed the attached exchange format version of the file. I found no previous record of del-D (deuterium in /MILLE), so I fabricated Exchange format names using the general scheme used previously for some isotopes. The data report included 3 decimal data. Based on the reported sample uncertainties and on the difference in replicates, that was overkill, so I truncated to 2. DELD, DELDERR , DELD_FLAG_W This file also includes the final version(s) of the light isotope values from both LDEO and WHOI (merged some time back).

Wilf Gardner's CTDBEAMCP final data to be merged
This file contains updated 3H values received from Jenkins today. He has discovered a contamination issue with bottle caps that will cause changes to all of the files recently submitted with "new" 3H data. Bill significantly increased the uncertainty and additionally applied a correction to his data. When the uncertainty is considered, the data now agree with Peters data from this cruise. As I upload the files with the "cap contamination correction" I will make a notation here and in the README header for each file.

regarding the S4P C13/C14. The analyses are not yet finished on these samples. NOSAMS does not charge the CLIVAR program for these analyses. Consequently, the number that they can analyze per year is strictly limited. Once the analyses are complete, QC and submission of final data can be (and usually is) very quick.
I do not know where in the queue the S4P samples lie, but they are run on a "first in - first out" basis. Cruises in final QC include P06, I06S, I09N, I05, A13.5 and 2 collaborative cruises that Bill did with European colleagues (ANDREX-1&2).
This means that S4P, a German cruise completing the prime meridian line (A12) and crossing the Weddell Sea, and another German cruise in the Med. (and I think I've forgotten one more) are in the works.

I am certain however that adjustments will be made to the alkalinity and
pH data before they are "final", the importance of those adjustments
for users rather depends on the use that is being made of the data.
I don't know if there are seriously flawed CFC and SF6 data or not. There
appears to be an offset in F11 for the first 14 or 15 stations from preliminary
plots that I have seen, but I haven't a chance to look at the data. Data from
these stations are certainly not ready for use in research and should be
stripped from the online holdings. As usual we will go through the entire data
set and remove bad standard and blank runs and recalculate all of the data.
Usually this does not change ship board values for most of the data by more
than 5%, but we also usually find some flyers that are flagged as bad. The
user needs to be aware of this.
I just added a new text version of the cruise report to the co2clivar/southern/s04/s04p/ directory. It will be available on the CCDHO website following the next Update script run.
