Merged CFC-11 and CFC-12 into web bottle file. Put new woce format and exchange format bottle files online. Details in "notes" file sent to Jerry. Notes on P02T Apr 3, 2003 D. Muus 1. Merged CFCs from: /usr/export/html-public/data/onetime/pacific/p02/p02t/original/ 2001.07.09_P02T_CFC_DQE_WISEGARVER/20010709.165102_WISEGARVER_P02T/ 20010709.165102_WISEGARVER_P02T_p02t_CFC_DQE.dat into web bottle file (20030219WHPOSIOSA) 2. Merged Nitrite from: /usr/export/html-public/data/onetime/pacific/p02/p02t/ original/2001.02.27_P02T_CFC_CARBON.DIR/P2_RUTIN_WOCEFMT.txt into web bottle file (20030219WHPOSIOSA) to get correct quality flags. Web file had "1"s, should be "9"s. Changed Sta 11 Cast 1 to Sta 10 Cast 2 and Sta 47 Cast 1 to Sta 47 Cast 2 as in my merge note 2001/03/07. 3. Changed quality flags for missing nutrients and CFCs for Station 1 from "1"s to "9"s. 4. Changed quality flags for Sta 35 Cast 1 Sample 21 SALNTY from "1" to "2" Changed quality flags for Sta 35 Cast 1 Sample 22 SALNTY from "1" to "2" per P2_RUTIN_WOCEFMT.txt. Don't know where the "1"s came from. 5. Changed quality flags for Sta 47 Cast 2 Sample 1 nutrients from "1"s to "9"s to match missing values. 6. Made new exchange bottle file and checked with Java Ocean Atlas.
New PDF and text docs online.
SE noted that for station 90 there were values for TCARBN, ALKALI, and PH but the QUALT1 flags were 9. I copied the QUALT1 flags to QUALT2 flags and changed the QUALT2 flags for those parameters on station 90 to 2s, and left the QUALT1 flags as is. Made exchange file, put files online, sent notes to Jerry.
*See TCARBN entry.

Replaced ctd .zip file with file received from Lynne Talley. She reformatted all ctd files so that pressure format is f8.1 and quality flag format is i8. No changes to data or flags.
I have placed the DQEd CFC data from D. Wisegarver into the p02t directory .../pacific/p02/p02t/original/2001.07.09_P02T_CFC_DQE_WISEGARVER Included in this directory are dqe CFC data file, website submission form README files for both data and DQE comments file. Data are in need of merging at this time. (this file was overlooked when moving all other Pacific lines dqe cfc data!)
New txt and pdf files online.
This is information regarding line: P02T ExpoCode: 49K6KY9401_1 Cruise Date: 1994/01/09 - 1994/02/10 From: WISEGARVER, DAVID Email address: WISE@PMEL.NOAA.GOV Institution: NOAA Country: USA The directory this information has been stored in is: 20010709.183714_WISEGARVER_P02T The format type is: ASCII The data type is: DOCFile The Bottle File has the following parameters: CFC-11, CFC-12 WISEGARVER, DAVID would like the data PUBLIC. And would like the following done to the data: MERGE CFC DOC Any additional notes are: CFC DATA ON SIO98 SCALE
The calculated precision for CFC-12 based on replicate pars was 1.8%, Although the precison of measurements did not meet the original WOCE quality standards [1.9% or 0.002 pmol/kg for CFC-12], the data does fall within the relaxed standards of ±3% or 0.015 pmol/kg.
CTD and Bottle files in exchange format have been put online.
It has just come to my attention that the C-14 results from the Japanese occupation of line P2T have been published. The number of stations is rather small, but the data are in an area which the U.S. did not cover (zonally). They should be willing to release the data since they consider it an official WOCE cruise. The reference is: Watanabe, et al., 1999, J. Oceanogr. Soc. Japan, A preliminary study of oceanic bomb radiocarbon inventory in the North Pacific during the last two decades, 55, 705-716. I will e-mail Watanabe today with an initial request for the data for inclusion in the atlas. If I have no luck, perhaps one of you can followup.
Bottle: (salnty, oxygen, silcat, no2 no3, cfc-11, cfc-12, tcarbn, alkali) Placed new bottle data file online that Dave Muus Merged. "Merged nutrients, freons, and carbon data from 2001.02.27 _P02T_CFC_ CARBON.DIR/ P2_RUTIN_ WOCEFMT.txt into the 19990616 WHPOSIOSA web file and assumed the 1999 web SUMMARY file is correct."
20010306 merged file replaced by 20010307 file. Merged nutrients, freons, and carbon data from 2001.02.27_P02T_CFC_CARBON.DIR/P2_RUTIN_WOCEFMT.txt into the 19990616WHPOSIOSA web file and assumed the 1999 web SUMMARY file is correct. Station 11 cast 1 on new file seems to be the same as station 10 cast 2 on web file. No Sta 11/1 on web file and no Sta 10/2 on new file. Station 47 cast 1 on new file seems to be the same as station 47 cast 2 on web file. No Sta 47/1 on web file and no Sta 47/2 on new file. Summary file on web (dated 19990615) agrees with web .SEA file. Station 1 Cast 1 on web file but no Station 1 on new file. Successfully ran wocecvt on merged file (p02thy.txt dated 20010307).
The Bottle File has the following parameters: SILCAT, NO2+NO3, NITRIT, PHSPHT, CFC-11, CFC-12, TCARBN, ALKALI, PH. The Bottle File contains: CastNumber StationNumber BottleNumber SampleNumber. And would like the following done to the data: reformat, merge, put online:Public
The sampling for helium/tritium might be planed for P2 at first and reported to WHP office, but actually did not made, I think.
CTD, Bottle All params in all files decrypted by me. Okuda sent a message to WHPO stating that all data could be public.
I have updated the P02T (49K6KY9401_1) bottle, sum, and ctd files with the most recent reformatted files from Sarilee. The specifics on the reformatting can be found in "notes.p02t" in the original directory of p02t on the public site (you should be able to get to the file there, if not let me know and I'll just mail you a copy). The table has been updated to reflect the change. Danie
I put P02T cruise DO and nutrients data into your ftp site, 184.108.40.206. The documents files are: crurep3.txt for DO p2tnut.txt for nutrient The data files are; KA03Sxxx.XLS 63 files for DO p2tnut.dat excel4.0 format for nutrients K. Yokouchi, PI of Do of P02T cruise, and C. Saito, PI of nutrients of P02T cruise, asked me to submit these data, then I did. I also bring disks at WHPPC 16th meeting at Hamburg.
