CTD has been converted to exchange and put online. NetCDF files were made accordingly.
Reformatted file P8N_1.SEA found in p08/p08n/original/20010615_DOWNLOAD_FROM_JAPAN. File had five parameters with *&'s and only 3 Q1 flags. CTDOXY had *&'s but all values were -9.0, so I deleted those *&'s. Lynne Talley e-mailed Yoritaka asking for clarification. He responded that only BTLNBR, SALNTY, and OXYGEN had Q1 flags. I removed the *&'s for CTDSAL. Reformatted the .sum file to make consistent with WHP standards. The EVENT CODE for all station was BE. Had to change to BO in order to create an exchange file. Changed back to BE after creating exchange file. Reformatted .CTD files found in same directory as above. An exchange file needs to be created for the ctd data. All the files except for the .sum file need to be linked. .hyd Converted file P8N_1.SEA gotten from p08/p08n/original/20010615_DOWNLOAD_FROM_JAPAN to WOCE format. There were five parameters with ***'s and only three Q1 flags. CTDOXY had *'s but all values were -9.0. so I deleted those *'s. Lynne Talley e-mailed Yoritaka asking for clarification. His e-mail said that only bottle, bottle salinity, and bottle oxygen had quality flags. See e-mail below. I removed the *'s for CTDSAL. .sum Reformatted .sum file to make consistent with the WHP standards. The EVENT CODE for all stations was BE. Had to change it to BO in order to get an exchange file created. Changed EVENT CODE back to BE after creating exchange file. .wct Converted .CTD files, from same directory as above, to WOCE format. File indicates the CTDOXY is in ml/l, since all values are -9.0 and all Q1 flags are 5 I did not change the units.
Sarilee's data was linked to the website.
Dear Dr. Talley I am sorry to miss section 4.3.3 in reading of WHP manual. So, asterisks was not linked to quality flags in our SEA files. Three quality flags correspond to bottle, bottle salinity and bottle oxygen. There is some confusion about the quality flags: I'm attaching her email which explains the confusion. Can you please let us know which 3 of the quantities should have asterisks (******) beneath them, signifying that there is a quality flag for them? - Lynne Talley
