The A13.5 C14 samples have been analyzed. Not long ago I ran the data through 1st QC and returned the results to WHOI. They are doing the final checking/analysis of samples that were anomalous in QC. We should have these results to you in short order. The submitted data will be "final". There are other cruise data that are in similar shape/status. I will simultaneously submit results to CCHOD and CDIAC via normal procedures. Talked to Ann McNichol regarding A13.5. There are a couple of additional samples from the QC that they want to re-run (the 500ml samples have enough carbon for 2 runs when required). Those samples are in line, but it will be 1-2 months before they are finished.

2011.06.03 CFC-11, CFC-11_FLAG_W, CFC-12, CFC-12_FLAG_W, CCL4,CCL4_FLAG_W, SF6, SF6_FLAG_W were submitted by John Bullister on 5/25/11. - I converted the submitted data into csv format. - After merging the data, things looked good in JOA and the bottle comparer. - I converted the Exchange file into Woce and NetCDF formats. PH_TOT, PH_TOT_FLAG, PH_TMP - I masked pH values per email notification by Andrew Dickson.

I have a couple of cruises with parameters that need merging to deal with tomorrow and Friday, but I should be able to merge your data into the online CCHDO files early next week.
Please replace all CFC-11, CFC-12, CCl4 and SF6 data (and flags) at the CCHDO website with the values in the attached file.
The pH data has flaws that have not been fully characterized. Ideally, I feel we should remove any pH data at this time.
I am certain however that adjustments will be made to the alkalinity and pH data before they are "final", the importance of those adjustments for users rather depends on the use that is being made of the data.
2011.04.25 ALKALI and ALKALI_FLAG_W were submitted by Alex Kozyr on 2011.04.13 - In order to merge I replaced the units for PH_TOT. I changed them from preliminary to a blank string. These data were NOT merged. - I merged ALKALI and ALKALI_FLAG_W with no issues. - Everything looks good in JOA and the bottle comparer. - I converted the file to Woce and NetCDF. The NetCDF file opens without problems in JOA. 2011.05.10 ALKALI and ALKALI_FLAG_W - I changed station 87 sample 24 to value -999 with a flag of 5 - I updated the exchange, woce, and netcdf bottle files online

FCO2
2011.03.01 FCO2,FCO2_TMP, and FCO2_FLAG_W - I merged these columns on cchdo. I double checked using the bottle comparer and JOA, and things looked fine. 2011.03.02 SALNTY,SALNTY_FLAG_W,SILCAT,SILCAT_FLAG_W,NITRAT,NITRAT_FLAG_W,NITRIT,NITRIT_FLAG_W,PHSPHT,PHSPHT_FLAG_W - These data were recieved in a space delimited format. I converted this to csv. The SAMPNO and the CASTNO were joined together to form one number; I seperated the values. At this point the data merged, and looked ok in JOA. The submitted nutrients data had 9 decimal places, this was rounded to 2 decimal places in our files.
2011.01.28 - The following submissions came in: - OXY data came from Chris Langdon on 2010.12.05. - CFC, SF6 came from Bullister on 2010.12.08 and 2010.12.09, with the 2010.12.09 replacing the previous submission. - Wisegarver submitted NUTS on 2010.12. - Kozyr resubmitted the Bullister data, along with NUTS on 2010.12.20. - Susan submitted FCO2,FCO2_TMP, and FCO2_FLAG_W, but I didn't find the data, just a calculation methods document. - Susan emailed me the FCO2 data on 2011.01.31. I submitted it for her. 2011.02.07 OXY data from Chris Langdon: - I changed the units for REFTMP from ITS-90 to DEG C. This was only for the purpose of merging. The REFTMP from Chris Langdon's file was not merged. - I merged the OXYGEN and OXYGEN_FLAG_W columns with no problems. 2011.02.16 SF6 and CFC data from Alex Kozyr: - I merged CFC-11, CFC-11_FLAG_W, CFC-12,CFC-12_FLAG_W, and SF6 with no problems.

- I merged the TCARBN, and TCARBN_FLAG_W parameters from Alex Kozyr's 2010.10.19 submission. - The data merged without issue, and I double checked it with the bottle compare tool. - Before merging TDN and DOC data from Alex Kozyr's 2010.10.20 submission I changed the units for Depth from CORR.M to METERS, and I change the pressure units from DBARS to DBAR. - Overall, I merged TCARBN, TCARBN_FLAG_W, TDN, TDN_FLAG_W, DOC, and DOC_FLAG_W. I have placed the updated CTD files sent by Kristy McTaggert on 2010.06.02 in to the queue directory for this cruise. Kristy indicated that Wilf requested this as well as the calibration voltages and will at some point convert them to percent transmission numbers.
20100611 DBK Reformatting notes for a13.5 sum, woce and exchange bottle files. SUM: As per Mary Johnson, edited UNC DEPTH to COR DEPTH. Ran sumchk with no errors. Added header and WHP-ID. Renamed a13.5_33RO20100308su.txt. WOCE HYD: Added name/date stamp. Edited: DEG_C to DEG C UATM@T to UATM Ran wctcvt, which did not recognize the following parameters: CCL4, PCO2, PCO2TMP, PH_TOT, PH_TMP, SF6, DOC, TDN, REFTMP It also indicated that there was a mismatch between asterisked columns and total quality bytes, however this is not the case. This could be because it does not recognize all the parameters. In order to confirm, I converted the woce file into exchange and format checked the resultant exchange file with copy_bottle_data.rb. The file converted without error. Therefore the formatted WOCE file was used. Renamed a13.5_33RO20100308hy.txt Exchange HYD: Edited: DEG_C to DEG C UATM@T to UATM REFTEMP to REFTMP M to METERS DBARS to DBAR Added DBAR to CTDRAW units Ran file through copy_bottle_data.rb to re-order parameters according to the CCHDO preferred order list. Added previous/original stamp back into file. Renamed a13.5_33RO20100308_hy1.csv NETCDF: Created netcdf files from exchange file with no errors. These files opened in JOA, however viewing data within JOA was problematic. This is believed to be a bug in JOA and not an error in netcdf format. A ncdump of the file to the screen, shows correct formatting. Therefore, the files were zipped together and placed online. File is a13.5_33RO20100308_nc_hyd.zip Ran update script and sent notes file to Jerry.
I incorrectly labeled the column "UNC DEPTH" in the a13_5.sum file I submitted yesterday; it's corrected meters. Same with the exchange file - but that doesn't label the depth one way or the other. I put a replacement for the .sum and _hy1.csv files on our website, with just that one header changed: Also, I meant to let you know that the date/time columns in the exchange file is the date/time that particular bottle tripped; not the bottom-of-cast time. I notice a time of 2400 (with the correct date of the previous day) on station 31-1-18 - it's a rounding error of a 23:59:30 timestamp on that trip. We have started using lat/lon of the cast "bottom" for the lat/lon on each bottle... but the actual time the bottle tripped could be useful information we didn't want to lose.
