I re remerged the data from a file (a01w.dat) I got from his website. Alex said it was the same as the one he put in the ftp-incoming area.
Remerged the TCARBN and ALKALI re A. Kozyr. Put file online, made new exchange, sent notes to Jerry.

March 19, 2003 Notes on a01w 18HU95011_1 update:
Noticed in the Data History that on June 24, 2002 Alex Kozyr reported that the QUALT1 flags for TCARBN and ALKALI were incorrect.
There is no indication in the Data History that this had been corrected, so I retrieved the data from CDIAC web site and remerged the TCARBN and ALKALI with their correct flags.
In March of 2000 in the Data History, Peter Schlosser indicates that there is HE/TR for this line. I can't find the data at WHP. I have requested it from Bob Newton/Schlosser.

WOCE file for station 35 cast 1 was missing NUMB OBS and QUALT values in the last line which was creating a problem further down in the nc files. This line was removed from the exchange and netcdf files were made over.
CTD file for station 35 has missing NUMB OBS and QUALT flags for the last line of data, this line was removed from the exchange file only for the purpose of the inventory.

I have compared the data files for A01W and A02 at CDIAC and WHPO.
For A01W, both TCO2 and TALK at CDIAC and WHPO are identical but quality flags are wrong at WHPO for both parameters.
Note: WOCE WHPO (Stephen/Danielle), we are working with Bob Key, Alex Kozyr, Chris Sabine and many others on the Global Carbon synthesis. The following notes are for the synthesis group but some might be of relevance to you as well.
Betty has been doing a last check of our carbon synthesis product for the Atlantic and the "WOCE bottle data" and "WOCE bottle data in exchange format". Unfortunately the data in these files are not always the same. [note, whpo@ucsd.edu perhaps clearly indicate last updates in each of the
files].
We made the following changes to our data files which were originally obtained from Alex via CDIAC. The following are the notes from Betty and will be reflected in our version 11 data.
Alex please note the unresolved issues for A01W and AO2. Alex, could you please determine if the WOCE files have the latest carbon data. Because of differences in sample # between the original file you sent and the WOCE file we cannot merge data from one file to the other
for A01W and A02
A01W - Our file does not match the WOCE file; the station numbers don't match and there is a difference in size. The WOCE bottle data was last updated on 10/22/2001. It looks like our TCO2 and TALK data matches what is in the WOCE file when I compare sample by sample.

CTD has been converted to exchange using the new code and put online.

BTL file: Removed <cr> from end of lines. removed 2 extra spaces at the beginning of the lines. Updated the data status on the websites index.htm page.
Documentation for this cruise has been updated.
Bottle file replaced with a file sent by Mr. Anthony Isenor on October 22, 2001. Documentation was also replaced, however because this file was submitted in Microsoft Word format, the conversion to .txt made the file lose formatting. This raw version is online. The bottle file is not in exact WHPO format so the exchange file was not updated. The old exchange file is no longer online. Bottle file needs reformatting. Old files and .doc version of the documentation are in the original directory.
CTD has been converted to exchange format. New version of exchange files are now online.
The exchange bottle file name in directory and index file was modified to lower case.
CTD exchange files were put online.
Bottle file in exchange format has been linked to website.
Added reports on CFCs, Reversing Thermometers, He/Tr, Oxygen Isotopes, Moored Instruments, Inverted Echo Sounders, and 2 appendicies: CTD Calibration and CTD Oxygen Calibration. Added internal links within the pdf file (figures, table of contents, tables, equations, appendices). Updated both pdf and text files.
PDF and txt documentation for this cruise has been replaced with newer versions. Old files have been renamed and moved to original directory.
Danie and I have edited the expocode in all ctd files and the bottle to match the underscored expocode in the sum and bottle files. New files were zipped and replaced existing ctd files online. Old files were moved to original directory.
Caroline is producing txt version.

Files were found in incoming directory under whp_reports. This directory was zipped, files were separated and placed under proper cruise. All of them are sumfiles. Received 1997 August 15th.
As mentioned in my recent message, we will release our data with a flag that indicates that they are not yet final. We started the process of transferring the data and we will continue with the transfer during the next weeks. I had listed the expected order of delivery in my last message.
